List of Figure Skating Events at the Olympic Games
There have been figure skating events throughout the history of the Winter Olympics, plus also events at some Summer Olympics. Here is a list of events, and the years that the event was held.

- Figure Skating, Men’s Singles - Solo male skaters perform individually choreographed programs including jumps, spins, and footwork. Held 1908, 1920 (Summer Olympics), and every Winter Olympics from 1924 to present. See results
- Figure Skating, Women’s (Ladies’) Singles - Solo female skaters perform individually choreographed routines focusing on technical elements and artistry. Held 1908, 1920 (Summer Olympics), and every Winter Olympics from 1924 to present. See results
- Pair Skating - Mixed-gender duos (one man, one woman) perform lifts, throw jumps, death spirals, synchronized jumps and spins together. Held 1908, 1920 (Summer Olympics), and every Winter Olympics from 1924 to present. See results
- Ice Dance - Mixed couples perform rhythm and free dances emphasizing timing, interpretation, intricate footwork, and partner unity (no large jump elements like in pairs). Held every Winter Olympics from 1976 to present. See results
- Figure Skating Team Competition - National teams compete across the four main disciplines (men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs, ice dance). Each segment contributes points toward an overall team score. Held every Winter Olympics from 2014 to present. See results
- Men’s Special Figures - Skaters traced intricate specific patterns (“figures”) on the ice judged on precision. This event focused on edge quality and control rather than free performance. This event was held at the 1908 Summer Olympics only.
