What Sport Life?

This Sporting Life, by David Storey is acclaimed as one of the best novels written by a former sportsman or woman. The book follows the self-defeating professional and romantic pursuits of a miner turned rugby player eking out an existence in drab Yorkshire. It was also made into a film starring Richard Harris

This Sporting Life was one of my favouite radio programs when I was younger. Sports commentators ROY SLAVEN & HG NELSON spent 22 years on triple j reminding us that too much sport is never enough. Unfortunately the radio show finished in 2009, but occasioanly you will see media appearances by these characters.
