FIFA World Cup Golden Boot Winners
The FIFA World Cup Golden Boot is the award given to the top goal scorer of the World Cup tournament. The Golden Boot was formerly known as the "Adidas Golden Shoe" from 1982 to 2006. The award was first awarded in 1982, though the top goal scorer from each tournament since 1930 is easily determined.

A tie breaker was introduced in 1994, whereas if there is more than one winner with the same number of goals, the award goes to the player who has given the most assists. In 2010 they expanded the tie breaker, if needed, to give it to the player with the least playing minutes). Goals scored from penalty shoot-outs are not counted. Penalty shootouts were introduced in 1978 though none were held until 1982.
