2022 FIFA World Cup Lists
The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar featured 32 teams and was won by Argentina, who defeated France in a dramatic final on penalties after a 3–3 draw, giving Argentina their third title. It was known for being the first World Cup held in the Middle East and in November–December, as well as for Lionel Messi completing his career with a World Cup triumph.

- The match format comprised 32 teams competing in eight groups of four. The top two teams from each group advanced to a knockout stage starting with the round of 16, where group winners were paired against runners-up. See the format changes over the years.
