List of Sports at the 1980 Winter Paralympic Games
The 1980 Paralympic Winter Games was held in Geilo, Norway. There were two sports on the program, and 63 events overall. Compared to the first Winter Paralympics in 1976, the sport of ice sled racing has been added. Here is a list of the sports.
1980 Paralympic Sports List
- Para alpine skiing - Para alpine skiers with physical, vision or intellectual impairments compete in downhill, slalom, giant slalom, super-G and combined events, racing individually against the clock.
- Para cross-country skiing - Athletes with physical or vision impairments race over long distances using standing, sitting or visually guided classifications.
- Ice sled racing - Athletes with lower-body impairments race on ice using lightweight sledges with blades, propelling themselves with spiked poles in short-distance speed events.
