There are many sporting events happening around the world in 2025. Here is a list of major events that any sporting fan should put putting on their sports bucket list for this year. If you get the chance, go and watch these live.
Tour de France
- Super Bowl LIX (January): Held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, Super Bowl LIX was a rematch of Super Bowl LVII two years prior. The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
- FIFA Club World Cup (June–July, USA): The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 took place in the United States, featuring an expanded 32-team format with champion clubs from every continent. This intensified format elevated the global club competition to a new level.
- Wimbledon Championships (July, London): At the Wimbledon Championships 2025, held at the All England Club in London, Jannik Sinner defeated the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz for the men's singles title. On the women’s side, Iga Świątek captured Poland's first Wimbledon singles crown.
- Tour de France (July): The Tour de France 2025 featured challenging new routes and fierce competition. Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates reclaimed the yellow jersey for his third overall win, with Jonas Vingegaard finishing closely behind.

- Women’s Rugby World Cup (August–September, England): The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England will brought together the world’s top women’s rugby-union teams in high-intensity national-pride match-ups and will underscore the continued growth of the women’s game. England won the competition, beating Canada 33–13 in the final.
- World Athletics Championships (13–21 September, Tokyo, Japan): The World Athletics Championships 2025 were held at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo. Over 2,000 athletes from around 200 countries competed across 49 events.
- Ryder Cup (September, Bethpage Black, New York): The 45th edition of the Ryder Cup 2025, the biennial men’s team golf competition between Europe and the United States, was played in September at the iconic Bethpage Black Course in New York, USA, with Europe edging out the USA team. While golf is often considered an individual sport, this team event always delivers thrilling camaraderie and memorable match-ups.

- ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (Sep 30 – Nov 2, 2025): The 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 was co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Australia were defending champions.
